AI Chatbot Hub employs a multi-agent structure for designing chatbots. For lead collection within this setup, you’ll need to create a new AI agent from the "AI Agents" tab or incorporate its features into an existing agent. You’ll find a template designed for General Q&A.
After you create the new Agent, go into its edit screen by clicking on it. Scroll down to review the base prompt. Depending on what information you would like to capture, configure the base prompt appropriately.
Click “Save changes.” Then, navigate to Customizations > User data management > User data collection > Pre-define variables.
Ensure that a corresponding Variable is created for each piece of information you want to capture and store.
When setting up the variable, aim to be clear and concise. Where possible, include examples to show the expected values. You can also set a default state for the variable; if left blank, it will automatically default to “NOT PROVIDED.”
You can also require that Variables have non-empty (non-"NOT PROVIDED") values before the AI Supervisor moves away from the Agent. This can be achieved by using AI Supervisor Overrides. By configuring these settings, the Lead Generator Agent will remain active until all Variables defined in it are populated with valid values.
Next, go to the “Knowledge” tab. Depending on the information you’d like the Agent to access while requesting details from users, you can link the relevant training data to this Agent. Typically, Lead Generator Agents focus on gathering user information, so they might not need knowledge base access. To turn off all knowledge, simply disable “All Sources” and leave “Agent Sources” empty.
Select “Save changes” and close the Agent editing dialog. Go back to the Agent selection view, where you can now “Connect” your new Lead Collection Agent. In the top right corner of the Agent card, open the “three dot” dropdown menu and choose “Connect.”
You should now notice a glowing blue dot next to “Lead Generator,” signifying that the Agent is currently training. If you want your Agent to gather user details before delivering any services, set it as the “Initial Agent” to manage the first user query.
Once the blue dot turns green, your Agent will be ready. You may need to refresh the page to view any status updates.
Navigate to the “Preview” tab, where you can test your new chatbot, now enhanced with conversational Lead Collection capabilities.
To review the gathered data, go to the “Inbox” tab, locate the test conversation session, and open the “Debug view.”
To export the data collected across all chat sessions, head to the “Inbox” tab, click on the “Export” button, and choose “Collected Data” from the dropdown menu.
